Beginning of Week 37 (36 weeks 0 days)

This has been a crazy productive week! First, I can't believe there are only 4 weeks left, that is crazy!  Although sometimes saying 4 weeks sounds so close and sometimes it seems so far away still!!  No major changes with the baby this week, he/she just keeps growing and kicking!  I have another dr appointment on Friday, so hopefully things will remain unchanged.  After that I will be going to the dr every week!  I have been having some contractions every once in awhile, I am pretty sure they are Braxton Hicks.  If only real contractions felt like this - very little pain, haha!

This week's productivity include finishing all of my sewing projects and getting almost finished with the nursery.  I ended up making 2 changing table sheets, a crib skirt, a receiving blanket, and tab curtains.  Everything turned out great.  Kristin spent the day today helping me stencil letters and numbers around the top of the room as a border, which looks awesome!  Now all I have left is to hang frames on the walls, and organize and put everything away in the nursery and the closet upstairs where the baby will spend the first few months of his/her life.  I even packed my hospital bag this week!  I also finished buying things off my target registry this week.  I am finally feeling a little more prepared.  Mom asked what I was going to do for the whole month of July and I said "relax"!! I promise to post pictures of the finished nursery once everything is put away!  I also browned and froze 11 and a 1/2 pounds of hamburger to use once the baby is born!

So, moment of confession, I am very very nervous for the upcoming labor.  I am worried that Jed will be at work and I will not call him early enough to have time to get there, or that I will call him too early and it will just be false labor, haha!  I don't handle pain that well, so I am very worried for the whole labor experience, but I can't wait to meet our baby, so it will all be worth it!!

Beginning of Week 36 (35 weeks 0 days)

Well I actually feel like we are starting to make progress on baby stuff, so I don't feel quite so behind! My mom came down last week and with her help we were able to get the nursery painted, Jed put the crib together, the baby furniture is all cleaned up and ready to go, most of the clothes and bedding is washed, one of the curtain panels is almost done (of course I had to order more ribbon and material, who would actually get enough the first time, haha!), the bookcase we bought is put together, the blinds are installed in the nursery, and our storage room and downstairs bathroom are all cleaned out and organized!! All that is left for the nursery is to do the stencil decorating for the border, finish the curtains, and put things away! I promise I will post pictures when it is all finished. Next week I plan on cleaning out the closet that will become Jed's so we can make room in our closet for Baby Lake, cleaning out the upstairs bathroom closet to give Baby a shelf, and cleaning out some room in the kitchen to make room for baby stuff! And by the way, I am not nesting, this is simply getting ready for baby work, so no worries, I plan to keep baking this baby!

In other news, nothing major going on (except growing a baby obviously). I had another dr's appointment this past Friday and all was great (even gained the recommended 2 pounds in 2 weeks!). Baby Lake's heartbeat sounded great!I go back next Friday and then will start going every week after that.

I spent the last two days at some training for school sitting all day and the baby did not really like that, but oh well. My back didn't hurt quite so bad today as it did yesterday, so that was good!

I also am not really enjoying the possibility that the baby will enjoy putting it's head on my bladder for the next 5 weeks every time I get up to walk, but oh well, it's all worth it!! I also have been feeling the baby hiccup a lot more lately. I barely felt it at all until about 2 weeks ago and now I feel it fairly regularly. Luckily it doesn't bother me like it does some people!

Beginning of Week 35 (34 weeks 0 days)

1 more week closer to the arrival of Baby Lake! It is hard to believe that my due date is only 6 weeks away. This week has brought lots more hard kicks and moves from Baby Lake that are not always the most comfortable, but I love feeling our baby, so I will take it!

My mom came to stay with us this week in order to help me get things ready. We spent the first day organizing and cleaning out the storage room, then we spent today painting the nursery with my awesome husband's help and running errands. Tomorrow we will start working on the sewing projects for the room including curtains and cradle sheets. I am so thankful for the wonderful people I have in my life! I am also so glad to finally be making progress on baby stuff! I feel like a slacker when I see everything that other people have done to get ready, haha!

I did water aerobics last night and that felt great. Swimming has become something that feels fantastic, and it was nice to get exercise in with it!

Beginning of Week 34 (33 weeks 0 days)

Time is flying so fast, I can't believe it! 7 weeks to go, that is just plain crazy! I am still feeling pretty good, but I am really not enjoying this heat that we have been having lately. Hands are definitely swelling whenever I am out in the heat for too long. I went swimming for the first time yesterday and it felt so amazing! It was really weird for my belly not to feel heavy anymore. My gym is starting water aerobics classes next week that I am hoping to attend.

My weight has definitely been continuing to sky rocket lately, not quite sure what to do to slow it down. I know I need to work out more, but the whole eating thing is frustrating because there are days I feel like I can't eat enough to actually be satisfied/full.

This past weekend was very fun and busy. My parents were here this past weekend to replace our stair railing, it turned out awesome!

I had class at WU all day on Friday, so my parents and Jed worked really hard all day long and were mostly finished by Friday night. They put the finishing touches on Saturday morning. They did a fantastic job. We replaced 14 ballisters with 29, there is no way Baby Lake is falling through the railing!

This weekend was also my Topeka baby shower. We had an awesome turn out and it was so much fun. People got to guess how big my belly was around, guess what they thought the gender of the baby and the name was going to be, and eat great food. I got so many awesome gifts. Now, it is time to start organizing them all! I was exhausted by the end of the day on Saturday, and I realized how hard it is for me to just sit and let other people do things while I just sit there. Luckily I have great family that forces me to rest, haha!

Our next project includes painting the nursery, shampooing the carpet, and putting together the crib!

Beginning of Week 33 (32 weeks 0 days)

Holy cow - only 8 more weeks to go. That fact alone is crazy. My dr said she thought the pregnancy was going slow, but I think it is going so fast! Another crazy fact is that I can now officially say that I am due next month!

School is now officially over for the year. I have quite a few meetings that I am going to be attending, but nothing on a daily basis, so that will be so nice.

One of the major baby projects is hopefully going to be completed this weekend. My parents are coming tomorrow for my baby shower and my dad and Jed are going to be replacing our stair railing so the baby doesn't fall through the railings when s/he starts crawling! I am also hoping that we can get the nursery painted next week so we can then clean the carpets and get stuff set up.

I am very excited for my Topeka baby shower this weekend - I love spending time with family and friends!! Baby Lake is going to be so spoiled!

I had another dr's appointment today and she said the baby is growing perfectly. I unfortunately gained 5 pounds in 2 weeks, whoops. Food is definitely more available now that I'm not working, and that is something I will work on. Exercising has also got to become a habit. I am hoping to start swimming since it is supposed to start getting hot! I have one more biweekly dr visit and then I start into weekly dr visits. Dr said that she would do another ultrasound around 37 weeks - I can't wait to see pictures of our baby again! Although I can't wait to meet Baby Lake, I am perfectly fine with Baby Lake doing about 7 more weeks of baking!

So far I am still feeling good. Baby Lake loves to move around and kick me, but I enjoy watching and feeling the movements. Sometimes the kicks aren't very nice, but that's ok, I am sure it is cramped in there! The miracle of our baby being in my belly is still something I cannot comprehend. I am getting tired very easily, but I am learning to take breaks when I need them and of course I am drinking lots of water.
