Beginning of Week 24 (23 weeks 0 days)

Wow, when I look at pictures - I'm getting huge, haha!  Maternity clothes have become a regular part of my wardrobe now.  I am still wearing my regular clothes quite a bit, but I am growing out of most of those.

I had the wonderful experience this past week of seeing the baby make my belly bounce.  It was awesome.  The baby still is stubborn though and is always very still when Jed puts his hand on my belly.

The baby is about 8-11 inches big and weights just over a pound - the size of a small doll.  The books say the baby is supposed to double it's weight in the next 4 weeks - crazy!  The baby's sense of movement is supposed to be developed now, so when I walk around the baby can feel it.

For the most part, everything is going great.  I did have a scary almost fainting experience yesterday, I learned my lesson about standing in one place for too long!

Once again, a lot bigger than the last time I wore this outfit!

Week 23 (22 weeks 2 days)

I'm late this week because Jed and I spent the last 4 days on our babymoon to Chicago - it was absolutely awesome.  We rode the amtrak train to Chicago, spent 3 nights at Hotel 71, saw most of the major touristy things, walked a ton, and spent some great time together!  Baby Lake enjoyed the trip too, I am sure of it!  Baby Lake did cause me to have to really watch how fast I walked and watch how much water I drank.  Baby got to try some deep dish Chicago pizza and enjoy many other wonderful tastes.

We went to the dr today and had another great appointment.  We heard a strong heartbeat again and had a pretty large weight gain in the last month (7 lbs, whoops - must have been all the wonderful Chicago food!).  I go back again April 19 where I get to have the wonderful glucose test.  We are so happy that everything is progressing wonderfully!

Beginning of Week 22 (21 weeks 0 days)

This week brought some great growth - I graduated to 10 pieces of toilet paper and gained a perfect amount of weight.  I am finally on the right growth track.  I swear I look a lot more pregnant than other people think I do!  When I look down at my belly, it looks huge, but when I look at it sideways it doesn't look that big, lol.

Baby Lake is going to be enjoying his/her first big trip on Monday.  For my spring break Jed and I decided to take our last responsibility free trip.  We are going to be taking the Amtrak to Chicago, so next week's post will be a little late.  The baby book says that the baby can taste what I eat, so I hope to introduce him/her to some new foods!

I am pretty sure I have been feeling the baby kick (I know, I know - I should be able to tell right).  It feels like something moving on the inside, so I am pretty sure it is baby, haha.  It has been a great feeling, I can't wait until Jed can feel it as well!

Lots bigger than the last time I wore this dress 4 weeks ago!

20 week sonogram

We had our 20 week sonogram today - it was the greatest feeling in the world to see Baby Lake moving around in there.  During the sonogram we saw all of his/her body parts including kidney, bladder, stomach, legs, arms, 4 chambered heart, and head.  We also found out that Baby Lake is very active and did not want to be still very long.  Baby Lake also likes to grab his/her nose, and when the sonogram tech started poking him/her to get him/her to move, the baby finally grabbed his/her feet.  Baby Lake is very limber!  We saw Baby Lake kick and punch my stomach wall (still can't feel it), we saw Baby Lake yawn, and clap.  Baby Lake is sitting criss-cross in a breach position.  The heart rate was 158 which she said was excellent.  All looked great, and I didn't want it to end - I wanted to keep watching our baby!!

Beginning of Week 20 (19 weeks 0 days)

Baby Lake graduated to the size of a mango or a large heirloom tomato today - that's getting pretty big, haha!  Nothing major happened this week, I can tell Baby is doing some growing though as my energy is drained again.  I have also been having a headache which is just plain annoying, haha!  In less than a week we will get to have our 20 week sonogram, I am so excited to see Baby Lake again!

No change in Toilet Paper size again - still at 9 1/4, but my belly is so much rounder now!
