Beginning of Week 32 (31 weeks 0 days)

Only 9 more weeks to go - crazy!! No longer can I travel more than 2 hours away from Topeka. This week brought more growth and the baby trying to get used to the fact that I'm not up on my feet teaching all day. The baby's sleeping patterns are all messed up now, haha!

This week brought answers to two of my major prayers lately. First, I finally have someone that is going to be doing my maternity leave next August/September. The major answer to that prayer is that the person that is going to be doing my leave is actually a current math teacher at WRHS who is leaving in January to go into missions. He is not coming back at all next year, but he has agreed to teach for me for 6 weeks. This took a huge load off my shoulders and I will now be able to enjoy staying home with our baby much more!!

The next answer to my prayers came when I asked if anyone had any pediatrician recommendations for me. I had been stressing about finding one, and when I asked, I had a friend who let me know that her friend is a pediatrician and said that she had talked to her friend and she is accepting new patients and would love to see our baby! I knew this was an answer to my prayers because the doctor friend she suggested actually works at the office that I had already been interested in and she is on our insurance!

Things are starting to fall into place. Now that school is over, I plan to focus a lot on getting the nursery and our house ready. My parents will be here in a week and a half to work on the stair railing, so I am excited to have that project done. I was planning on relaxing a lot this summer, but unfortunately the summer is quickly filling up with different school activities...oh well, I will still find time to relax I'm sure!

Beginning of Week 31 (30 weeks 0 days)

Well this week was spent drinking tons and tons of water. I saw the Dr again today and she said everything looked good, so dehydration must have been the issue. I don't have to go back for another 2 weeks, so that is good! She said the baby is growing at a great rate, and I am gaining weight at a good rate as well. All is looking well, so hopefully that continues.

The baby really enjoys sleeping all day while I am teaching (is it bad that my teaching puts him/her to sleep, haha). I think it is just because my voice is comforting, haha!

We finished the car upgrade this week. We got our Hyundai Sonata in on Friday and we love it!! Hopefully baby will love it too and the purchase was made mainly for his/her safety and comfort!

This past weekend we were able to go to Omaha for our niece Grace's 2nd birthday. We had a fantastic time. Dr said that the Omaha trip is likely to be our last trip. I have one more week where I can travel, and then for the next four weeks I won't be able to go anywhere more than 2 hours from Topeka. At 36 weeks there won't be anymore traveling outside of Topeka. Hard to believe I am getting that close to my due date!! Just over 2 more months to go! So much to do to get ready!

Beginning of Week 30 (29 weeks 0 days)

Well after the slight scare yesterday, today was spent drinking tons of water!

This week was spent upgrading the vehicle that Baby Lake will ride in the most. We decided to sell my Impala "Paula" and upgrade to a new vehicle. We are still waiting on the new vehicle, but it should be here soon! Paula was a family friendly vehicle with plenty of room, but she was getting up there in age and miles, and a few more MPG will sure be nice!!

Not much else happened this week except for the fact that my belly is still growing, haha (which is good!). I only have 2 more weeks of school, so that is crazy. Only 2 more weeks of looking nice every day! Luckily I have been blessed with tons of maternity clothes, so trying to look nice hasn't been a huge deal. I have definitely discovered that dresses are by far the most comfortable item of clothing to wear!

I guess I will drink more water...

Well - our quick doctor's appointment today turned into a four hour excursion that included a trip to the hospital birthplace. At the doctor's office, I mentioned that the baby wasn't moving as much as I thought it should so she said we would put the monitor on me and see. Well, of course the baby was sleeping away, so they gave me some orange juice and had me sit up. Well, this caused the monitor to pick up the contractions that I was having about every 3 minutes (they were mild, so I didn't honestly know that's what they were). This concerned my dr since I am only 29 weeks, so she ran a preterm labor lab test and checked me. I wasn't dilated at all, but the baby was hanging out pretty low, so she wanted me to take the lab test over to the hospital and have them monitor me. At the hospital I continued to have contractions but not enough that the monitor picked up much and not enough that the dr was concerned. My pre-term labor test was negative, so the baby should be baking for at least a few more weeks! They aren't really positive what is causing the contractions, but it could possibly be dehydration, so I am supposed to drink tons of water. I go back to the dr in a week, and hopefully the contractions will have stopped by then. It is wayyyy too early for Baby Lake to come!

Beginning of Week 29 (28 weeks 1 day)

This week had no major changes except my ever growing belly.  I did have a a fantastic feeling of the baby kicking/moving in two different places at one time.  Last week, I think the baby was having a dance party in my belly and possibly invited a few of his/her friends over, haha!

The baby books say that Baby Lake is now dreaming - I wonder what he/she is dreaming of.  I would guess that he/she is dreaming of the wonderful family he/she is going to be joining in a few weeks!!

This past week was Jed's birthday, we got to spend the day cutting trees on the family property.

The other exciting thing that happened this week was my second baby shower today.  Christine hosted a wonderful party with my coworkers.  Once again, I was reminded how blessed this baby already is.  The shower was awesome!!
