Stubborn Baby Lake

We went in for our first OB appointment today and found out that Baby Lake is stubborn just like his/her parents!  We were supposed to get to hear the heartbeat on the doppler, but of course Baby Lake would rather be seen than heard, so we ended up getting another sonogram to make sure everything was ok.  Everything looked great, Baby Lake had a heart beat of 182 beats per minute and was kicking and punching his/her arms and legs.  Good thing I can't feel him/her yet, but I have a feeling this is going to be a very active pregnancy! Baby Lake has grown so much since my last sonogram Dec 8!  He/she actually looks like a baby now!  Next appointment - January 24, which will put me into my 2nd trimester!!

Baby Lake's Christmas time - end of week 10

We discovered that Baby Lake is already an excellent gift giver (ok so maybe Baby Lake had a little help from his/her mom and dad and grandparents).  We had an excellent Christmas.  We were able to celebrate with Jed's family before Christmas and then we were able to go to Sharon Springs for Christmas where we were of course spoiled!  Luckily I haven't had a lot of morning sickness, so I was able to enjoy all the Christmas meals!!  I have found though that if I miss my nap or don't drink enough water I start to feel bad.

I have my first doctor's appointment tomorrow with the nurse practitioner - praying that everything still looks good and that we get to hear the heartbeat!

TP Tuesday - 9 weeks 6 days

TP Tuesday time again.....at 9 weeks and 6 days I was 9 squares around, crazy how much I'm already growing!!

TP Tuesday - 8 weeks 6 days

I saw this idea on one of the pregnancy boards that I read - TP Tuesday.  Every Tuesday I will be measuring my growing belly with toilet paper.

Today I was 8 weeks 6 days along and I measured 8 1/4 pieces of toilet paper around!!  It will be interesting to see how this changes every week!

The end of the semester

Well today is the last day of the fall semester for me, so I am anxiously awaiting my 2 week break.  Baby Lake is making me very tired, so I am looking forward to sleeping in and relaxing!  Things are still going well - I finally started to gain weight instead of lose weight (that felt weird to say like it was a good thing, but I guess it is!).

I officially started week 9 this past Wednesday (Dec 15).  Only 31 weeks to go, haha, that's no time at all!   While it feels like it will be forever, I am sure that it will go fast!!  I head to the doctor on December 30 to see the nurse practitioner and hopefully get to hear the heartbeat!!

My main craving during this first trimester is for beef - all I want is beef, haha.  My mom says I have been this way since I was little, but I think it has definitely intensified during pregnancy!!

The next big question

The next big question, will we find out if we are having a boy or a girl, and the answer is.....no.  Both Jed and I want it to be a surprise.  I am a major planner, so this is going to be hard for me, but I have always wanted to have that surprise in the delivery room!

So, the big question is...how am I feeling?

I am honestly feeling quite good.  I am ridiculously tired and have a been a little bit nauseous a few times, but honestly no more than I normally am with all my stomach issues!  I am just praying this continues since they pushed my due date back 2 weeks which means I get to spend 2 more weeks in the first trimester!

Our big announcement!

Well we made our big announcement tonight - we are pregnant and are due July 27!!

We found out the week before Thanksgiving, were able to share with our family on Thanksgiving, and then we were able to announce to the world today.  It is probably a little early to share, but that's ok, we are too excited too wait!!  I am officially 7 weeks 1 day today.

Our original due date was July 13 (2 days after our anniversary), but after 3 ultrasounds, we were able to get a fairly accurate measurement yesterday as well as see a 136 bpm heart beat and see something that actually looked like a baby!!

We are so excited, and know that our lives will never be the same!

Our first fire

We had our first fire in our upstairs fire place today - it was wonderful!  Nice to hear the crackling as we watched the Chiefs beat the Broncos.
