Beginning of Week 28 (27 weeks 0 days)

This week was marked by the first feeling of the baby hiccuping.  The night before Easter, I woke up and couldn't fall back asleep, so I started reading and felt the baby moving a ton.  I thought the "kicking" was pretty rhythmic and lasting awhile, so I thought to myself, that's not kicking (unless the baby was rocking out to his/her own music inside my belly), that's hiccups!  It was a crazy feeling, but was really great.

I feel like I am growing tons every week, I can't believe how big I have gotten in the last few weeks.  The baby and I had a wonderful Easter with my family in Sharon Springs.  I did discover that I have to stop a lot more on the drive home than I normally do - but the trip is still easier than it will be with a baby I bet!

I am still having some issues when I walk faster than a turtle pace with pain in my lower abdomen.  Dr says it's normal, so I can't walk for exercise, which really annoys me.  I am trying to ride our stationary bike, but so far that hasn't happened a lot, haha!  I bought a maternity support belt today, so I am going to try walking with that to see if that helps the pain.

Beginning of Week 27 (26 weeks 1 day)

This week is marked by Baby Lake opening his/her eyes - I guess we should start playing flashlight tag with him/her!  Although, the baby might get annoyed and either kick me harder or decide he/she wants to come out, which definitely shouldn't happen!!

I had another doctor's appointment this past week - this one was the wonderful one where I got to do the glucose test, which consisted of drinking an orange drink then waiting an hour to get my blood drawn.  Luckily during that hour wait I got to see my doctor, so the wait didn't seem too bad.  The doctor said everything was measuring perfectly and I heard the wonderful heartbeat again.  The doctor said I would only hear back from them if the test results were not good, and I haven't heard back in 2 days - so I am assuming everything is fine with my glucose test - yay!!

The craziest thing about this past week is that my countdown to the due date is now in the double digits!!

Beginning of Week 26 (25 weeks 0 days)

This week was marked by our first baby shower.  Jed's wonderful brother and sister-in-law Doug & Maleia hosted a shower for us in Omaha for the multitude of family that we have in that area.  We had a wonderful time making onesies, tasting baby food to guess what it was (which was disgusting by the way), and getting to be around family.  My parents were able to make it up, so it was nice to blend our families together.  We received many awesome gifts and it was wonderful to feel the love that Baby Lake is going to have the minute he/she is born into this world.  The shower was even better because there was awesome cake there, haha!

Nothing much else has changed this week except the ever growing size of my belly.  People can finally tell that I am pregnant most days, which I really enjoy.  The babies hearing is fully developed now, and the baby weighs over a pound and a half.  Hard to believe this baby will be joining us in just 3 1/2 short months.  So much to do before then....!

Beginning of Week 25 (24 weeks 0 days)

The baby is all the way up to almost a pound and a half now - no wonder I am getting so much bigger!!  I am definitely getting more glances from people now, and most actually know I'm pregnant, not just gaining weight!!  I have started to have people want to touch my belly, so far it hasn't bothered me!

Had a great experience this week - Jed got to feel the baby kick this week!  Baby Lake finally gave me a pretty hard kick while Jed had his hand on my belly.  It was absolutely amazing!  Yesterday Baby Lake also kicked every time I ate a piece of ice - I think he/she wanted me to keep eating ice!!
