Visits with Santa

We visited Santa twice this year - once at Christine's church and once at HyVee (It was actually the same Santa both times - he is very popular in Topeka!).  We were supposed to visit him at WRHS, but I unfortunately had a stomach bug.  Ethan did pretty good both times, just acted a little shy like he normally is in new situations.  Adam didn't seem to be bothered at all!

His weight gain continued to slow down, but we kept on with breast milk and doing the best we can.  He kept eating about the same amount at daycare.

Length:

    2 month appt: 16 inches (90th percentile)
    4 month appt: 16.75 inches (77th percentile)

Clothes:  He is still in mostly 3-6 month clothing with a few 6-9 month sprinkled in.  He is starting to grow out of his 3-6 month sleepers.

Diapers:   He has moved to size 3 at daycare, and as soon as I run out of size 2, he will move to 3's at home.

Sleep:  The last two months have been awful for sleep  He started waking up 2 times a night, then 3 times, then starting about a week before he turned 4 months, he was waking up every 1 to 1 1/2 hours.  He now has settled into a routine up getting up about every 2 - 3 hours.  Every once in awhile he won't make it that long and I will try to keep him asleep with the pacifier.  Up until the night before he was 5 months, he was swaddled every night.  Last night I didn't swaddle him and he slept the same amount, so I decided to continue not swaddling him.  Tonight we moved him to the pack 'n play instead of the cradle.  I put him down for bed between 6:45 and 7:15.  He gets up for the day around 6:30.  At home we are still working on naps.  At daycare he is doing great for naps.  He is taking about 4 naps a day.

Eating:  Now that he is at daycare I nurse him during the night, once before work (he has gotten so he won't do this anymore), he gets about three 4 oz bottles at daycare (usually eating most of all of them), then I nurse him once mid-evening and once before bed.  On the weekends he eats about every 2-3 hours.

Our Day:  Our day is drastically different now that I am back at work.  I wake Ethan up at 6:20, get him dressed and get him his cereal bar.  I then get Adam up around 6:30 (if he isn't already up).  I get him dressed and feed him then pump before we all get in the car and head to daycare.  We pick them up from daycare between 4 and 4:30, come home, I nurse Adam about 5, he takes about a 30 min nap, we eat dinner, then bedtime for both boys starts around 6:45.

Looks: A little more brown hair and still his blue eyes

Milestones:  Continuing to roll from belly to back, rolling from back to side, lots of laughs

Firsts:  First 5K, first Halloween, first Thanksgiving, first trip to North Platte

Learning about fantasy football from daddy
